Transforming the 10th of Ramadan Training Centre
One of the cornerstone activites of the MEPEP Programme is the enhancement of technical and physical infrastructure at the 10th of Ramadan Technical Vocational Training Centre (VTC). This centre is affilated from the Productivity and Vocational Training Department (PVTD) under the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI).
A Comprehensive Refurbishment and New Construction Scheme
In August 2024, the MEPEP Programme successfully accomplished refurbishment and construction scheme at the 10th of Ramadan VTC. This milestone includes:
- The refubrishment of three existing buildings, encompassing classrooms, laboratories, and workshops.
- The full construction of a new, pioneering facility: Sharkeya’s Eco-friendly Resilient Educational Area (SERENA).
SERENA: A Model for Green TVET Practices
SERENA is much more than an educational building. As the first public eco-friendly and sustainable facility of its kind in the 10th of Ramadan industrial area in Sharkeya governorate, it represents a landmark in Egypt’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. This pioneering scheme underscores MEPEP’s dedication to integrating environmentally best practices into its strategic mission of empowering technical education.
Designed to lead the way in green practices, SERENA serves as a model for the future of TVET infrastructure in Egypt, combining a cutting-edge technology with a sustainable architecture. The facility houses:
- Modern laboratories equipped with advanced-tools and technology.
- Workshops designed for hands-on training in high-demand sectors.
- Contemporary classrooms optimised for effective learning.
- A job placement office (JPO) for strengthenting Egypt’s workforce development and aligning TVET outcomes with labour market needs.
The transformation of the 10th of Ramadan Training Centre represents a significant commitment of MEPEP Programme.
This large-scale initiative was made possible through the collective efforts of the MEPEP in collaboration with the PVTD. It reflects a shared vision of enhancing vocational education and training opportunities, fostering sustainability, and preparing Egypt’s workforce for the demands of a rapidly evolving labour market.
