A Brighter Tomorrow: TVET Centres Embrace the Renewable Energy Revolution

In an era where renewable energy is becoming a cornerstone of sustainable development, the role of technical and vocational education and training centres has never been more crucial. MEPEP is proud to announce a pivotal advancement in its efforts to modernise the technical education landscape in Egypt: the establishment and upgrade of renewable energy labs at two prominent institutions – the 10th of Ramadan Vocational Training Centre (VTC) and Don Bosco Cairo TVET Centre.

Following an initial assessment of existing equipment, a dedicated renewable energy lab has been newly established at the 10th of Ramadan VTC, while the renewable energy facilities at Don Bosco Cairo TVET Centre have undergone significant upgrades. To enhance learning and training capabilities, cutting-edge renewable energy equipment and advanced machinery have been delivered and installed at both centres. These facilities now boast 26 fully equipped workstations in total, ensuring robust, hands-on training environments.

These advancements were purchased, delivered, and installed by the Don Bosco Institute in Cairo, in the framework of PESDO project, under the umbrella of MEPEP programme. In addition, each centre has received a Training-of-Trainers (TOT) session on how to utilise the new equipment. This ensures that instructors are fully equipped with the knowledge and skills to maximise the potential of the new equipment, allowing them to deliver impactful, industry-relevant training to their students.

The newly established and upgraded renewable energy labs mark a transformative step forward for technical and vocational education in Egypt. By providing students with practical, hands-on experience using cutting-edge clean energy technologies, these facilities will prepare the next generation of skilled workers to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving labour market.

This investment not only highlights MEPEP’s commitment to advancing the TVET sector in Egypt but also reflects its strategic mission to empower the young Egyptians with the skills that are needed in the modern labour market. With these state-of-the-art facilities, the 10th of Ramadan VTC and Don Bosco Cairo TVET Centre are set to lead the way in shaping a brighter, greener tomorrow.
