In a steadfast commitment to fostering collaboration and maximising impact, the Multi-Educational Programme for Employment Promotion in Migration-affected Areas – MEPEP, organised the Networking Café: “CLUSTERING SYNERGIZING EUTF” on the sidelines of the E.M.P.O.W.E.R Graduation Ceremony. This event brought together high-level representatives from the EU, the Italian Embassy, and various EUTF programmes and projects to announce MEPEP’s initiative to enhance collaboration and fostering synergies under the European Union Emergency Trust Fund (EUTF) for stability and addressing the root causes of irregular migration and displacement in Africa.
The event commenced with the official announcement of the EUTF clustering initiative, marking a pivotal step toward aligning efforts and optimising resources across various programmes. Dr. Nicola Tucci, MEPEP Team Leader, welcomed the attendees with opening remarks, underscoring the event’s goal to facilitate collaboration among EUTF programmes. This was followed by a speech from Counsellor Anne Koefed, representative of the EU Delegation in Egypt, who emphasised the importance of such initiatives of strategic cooperation in fostering cooperation for a more impactful approach.
The Networking Café provided a unique opportunity for five EUTF-funded projects to present their work, share insights on challenges, and explore potential avenues for collaboration. Through these exchanges, participants identified common ground for joint actions, knowledge sharing, and leveraging expertise to tackle complex regional challenges more effectively. By strengthening inter-programme synergies, the MEPEP Networking Café has set the stage for a more cohesive and results-driven approach to education, employment, and migration-related initiatives in Egypt and beyond. This collaborative effort reaffirms MEPEP’s dedication to building bridges between key stakeholders, ensuring a lasting and transformative impact on TVET, employment promotion, and socio-economic development.
