Milestones of Excellence: 245 Graduates Transforming Egypt’s TVET Landscape

MEPEP has reached a remarkable milestone with the graduation of 245 trainers and teachers from the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the Ministry of Trade. These graduates have successfully completed extensive technical training across 13 technical sectors, reinforcing the programme’s commitment to enhancing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Egypt. 

On15th July 2024, at the Grand Nile Tower Hotel, MEPEP, under the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Cairo and in collaboration with Istituto Don Bosco Cairo, hosted the E.M.P.O.W.E.R Graduation Ceremony. The event, themed “Excellence, Milestones, Professionalism, Opportunity, Willpower, Employment, and Recognition,” served as a testament to MEPEP’s pivotal role in strengthening the TVET sector and improving employment prospects for Egypt’s workforce. 

The ceremony was graced by high-level dignitaries, whose insightful speeches highlighted the transformative impact of MEPEP on the TVET sector in Egypt, including Professor Dr Ayman Bahaa El-Din, Deputy Minister of Education and Technical Education; General Khaled Abu Mandour head of PVTD, Ministry of Industry and Transport; Counsellor Anne Koefed, representing the EU Delegation in Egypt and Dr Martino Melli, Head of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation – AICS Cairo, along with key stakeholders and partners.

In addition to celebrating the graduates, the event also highlighted MEPEP/PESDO’s objectives and achievements, featuring a short documentary that showcased the key milestones of the PESDO project and its impact on technical education and employment promotion in Egypt. 

This graduation marks a significant step in MEPEP’s mission to empower educators, enhance TVET quality, and create sustainable employment opportunities for future generations.
